It all started with one person - Yuri Dvoretski. In 2014, the idea for the project Voice of the Sleepers emerged. It was the first serious experiment: an attempt to combine the mechanics of favorite games, understand the inner workings of game engines, and create something of their own. The primary focus was on Unreal Engine - Voice of the Sleepers was developed on it. In parallel, Unity was being studied, and work was also underway on other projects using that engine. The project was endlessly rewritten, reworked, and refined. It never made it to a full release, but that was precisely when the foundation of the future studio was laid. Many of the ideas, approaches, and technical solutions that the team uses today originated during that period.
A period of freelancing followed. Programming, working within modding communities, taking part in independent teams - all of it became a school of practice and patience, where an understanding of process took shape and the studio's future style began to form.
In April 2022, collaboration began with the “Человек на ладони” team. By that time, the project already had its own concept, vision document, and lore. The first steps toward implementation had been taken back in November 2021, but there were not enough people to continue the work. In addition, the concept, lore, and story needed further development: the story was built mainly around a single plotline, without a well-developed distinction between the main and secondary storylines.
With the addition of a separate author, the project gained new momentum. The original materials were expanded and developed, and the lore was adapted to take both parties’ interests into account. An updated document was created, reflecting the wishes of both parties, and approved as the project’s foundation. During this period, the project was named ANOTHER VOICE.
Later, disagreements arose. The lore and story began to be extensively rewritten without our side’s consent, which created increasing problems. The conflict peaked when we stopped recognizing the game we had originally agreed to make in the project. Most of the materials were removed at the request of their authors, and the collaboration was soon discontinued.
After the collaboration ended, the concept and story of ANOTHER VOICE were completely revised. We returned to earlier materials, including ideas developed during the initial agreements with the “Человек на ладони” team. The current storyline is significantly different from the previous one. It retains some earlier ideas, most of which were proposed or written by our side. In revising the project, we relied on ideas and materials proposed or approved by us during the initial agreements, using them in their original or modified form, in order to respect copyright and avoid using disputed materials.
The disagreements arose from differences in how we envisioned the project’s future development and affected the course of the collaboration. At the same time, it cannot be said that one side was right about everything: mistakes and questionable decisions could have been made on both sides during development. In the end, the parties decided to continue working separately. We hold no ill will toward the “Человек на ладони” team, and we still keep in touch and have friendly relations with some former members.
By the end of 2024, it became clear that the personal project had grown into something much bigger. After a large-scale reorganization, new members joined, goals were revised, and a unified direction for development was established. Thus, TheFallenMop was born - an independent Belarusian game development and software team that united specialists around the founder's many years of experience and a shared commitment to creating high-quality projects.
Today, TheFallenMop is an independent Belarusian team that grew out of freelance experience, mistakes, and discoveries. We continue work on Another Voice, have Last Memory released, and are also developing various solutions for the mass user - from tools to assets for Fab and similar platforms. Additionally, the team actively participates in competitions and initiative projects, advancing our ideas and technologies.
We're open to collaboration, ideas, and any questions about our projects. If you'd like to get in touch with the team or propose a partnership, write to us: support@thefallenmop.of.by or info@another-voice.ru.
